General
Get Wired can take care of installation and upgrades on various types of network hardware infrastructures, from a single data switch upgrade to a full hardware network design. Get wired also offers a consultancy service that can inspect existing networks and make recommendations for upgrades; Get Wired can also undertake the installation and commissioning of new hardware.
Whether it is upgrades to allow for greater speed across the network or just replacing faulty parts Get Wired can help.

An emergency call out service is also available to get the network back up and running in the quickest possible time.
Data Switches & Fibre Optic Transceivers
Data switches are installed to allow for the network servers to connect and transmit data to each attached network device like PC's, printers, access points, wireless links, etc efficiently. The switches direct the information from and to the servers and attached devices using network IP addresses. The switch can also be used to for connectivity of incoming internet broadband lines via a router to allow internet access connections.
Generally data switches run at 100 Megabits per Second to each of the attached devices , but is dependant on connection speed from the server to the switch and from the network interface card (NIC) normally on the back of the attached devices.
Data switches are presented with twenty-four or forty-eight ports and designed to be installed within main or remote communications cabinets and connect directly with the installed cabling system via patch cords. Where more than one switch is installed they can be connected together to allow extra users onto the network. Between main and remote communications cabinets cable links can be installed to connect all the switches together.
Connection is normally made to either a connection directly from on of the ports on the front of the switch or by installing a fibre optic transceiver directly into the switch if it accepts it or via a stand alone transceiver that connects to the fibre optic link and the switch at each end. Copper Category 5e, 6 & 7 has limitations of only being able to run up to one-hundred meters and at a network speed of 100 Megabits per Second, fibre optic can be run up to five-hundred meters and have a network bandwidth of 10 Gigabits per second but 1 Gigabit is the most common.
Data switches come with many varied features and upgrades but this is solely dependant on the network requirements.
Phone Systems
There are three types of phone systems are generally available on the market, analogue and digital are the most common with Voice over IP systems also being available.
Phone systems also know as phone switches connect incoming lines and internal lines to phone users within a building but new switches can also connect to phone systems in other buildings via the incoming phone lines or broadband internet lines.
Digital systems has the edge over analogue systems due to more features being available including digital screens, voice mail and can be connected and managed form the data network via a user interface.
Phones switches normally require programming to allow for allocation of extension lines and as new lines are required the phone switch may require new extension cards and reprogramming.
Integrated Voice over IP systems are know available that allow the data and phone services to be incorporated into one network switch. This allows for both services to be managed together on the network , both services can also be sent down the same data point to the required position.
